Something to Train For
Why a start line is worth training for, the honest tradeoffs of competing at the high end, and how I decide when to race and when to defer.
This is the start of the competitive section, and it is a welcome, not a warning. Competition is the T3 performance play you earn on top of a floor you have already built and held. A goal on the calendar sharpens everything about how you train. It is also a choice, not a health requirement, and the honest data shows real tradeoffs at the high end. So compete when your body is strong and ready, and defer when it is not, without shame. I have done plenty of both.
